![]()
Eighty20.com.au has a new feature - instant downloads of ABS 2001 Census Community Profiles data tables. With this feature, users can purchase data and have instant access to the latest ABS Census of Population and Household data.
Eighty20 Direct Data Download contains data from the most recent Census that was taken on August 7, 2001 (released 17 June 2002).
Tables can be bought individually or as an entire group. Those customers purchasing all tables for a particular area may also request a free cdrom containing these tables to be express posted to them.
The areas available for selection are:
AUSTRALIA (Entire)
NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, WA, TAS, NT and ACT.
The level of data for selection is either to postcode or census collector district level.
Postcode level contains postcodes and all the hierarchical areas listed below (except CCD):
Levels contained:

Local Area (SLA)
Local
Government Area (LGA)
Commonwealth
Electoral Division (CED)

Census Collector District level contains Census Collector Districts as well as all the levels listed above. CCDs are the smallest areas and contains data broken down into CCD areas -or groups of approximately 200 households. These tables contain up to 30 times the data that postcode level tables do.
Digital Boundaries are included for all data tables! Digital boundaries are supplied as 'all points' boundaries in MapInfo Interchange Export (.mid/.mif) format. These are suitable for import into most geographic information systems and desktop mapping packages.
Eighty20.com.au is less expensive than all our competitors including the ABS!
|
What is the price comparison to the ABS for the data tables?
We have been unable to find cheaper prices than these!
Why can we discount these prices so heavily?
Eighty20 is delivered on the web and is extremely efficient - we do not have the overheads of other organisations. |
Using the example of 'Income*' (Individual - 18 variables) and looking at the smallest level of hierarchy as a display level - ie., census collector district - this is how we compare: ABS Australia: $2,455 State (NSW): $1,620 Eighty20 Australia: $1,000 State (NSW): $700 |
Eighty20 prides itself on delivering affordable data.
